Our Dallas energy client is seeking an Automated Test Engineer. position to join their Test Team at the direction of the QA Manager and team leads. The individual must possess the experience to develop test plans/test cases/test scripts and to execute and record results using test tools. The primary focus will be on Selenium Test Automation and experience working with qTest (Tricentis) is a huge plus.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

  • As a QA Automation Engineer, you will be responsible for test cases automation
  • Partner with developers and/or system SMEs to test their work using a variety of tools, automating API and UI test cases, ensuring that the software functions according to requirements.
  • Involve working with Java, Selenium and Apache Http Client and API/GUI test automation
  • Test APIs and GUIs, CI/CD, solve problems, write high-quality and reusable test code
  • Work with a global distributed work-face in a highly collaborative work in environment

Must Haves:

  • Experience with SDLC including unit tests, code management and build tools (Maven), code management tools (Gitlab) and deployment tools (Jenkins)
  • Strong experience in developing automation using frameworks like Selenium and UFT
  • Knowledge of Unix, SQL, Java, JSON and source control Git
  • Real-world experience with continuous integration and delivery is required
  • Experience with creating a framework incorporating best practices to integrate test case management tools with the Dev-Ops enterprise tool chain
  • Hands-on experience with Agile-scrum methodology and Test-driven development

KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE:

  • BS in computer science or equivalent with 5+ years or MS in computer science or equivalent with 4+ years hands on professional software development experience with a variety of different testing techniques such as UI Testing, Automated Testing, Test Driven Development Strategies
  • High school diploma or equivalent; college degree is preferred
  • Electric utility industry experience is a plus
  • qTest (Tricentis) is a big plus
  • Experience with automated testing tools is a plus
  • Must be flexible and willing to work late hours and weekends if required
